AST and ICHD hold a round table on cost effectiveness of several health sector policy options
26.09.2011 16:03AST held an off-the-record round table today at International Center for Human Development (ICHD) today to discuss policy options aimed at increasing the use of antenatal health services in rural areas of Armenia. The participants of the round table were from the government (Ministry of Health) and NGO sector.
The discussion was based on two interrelated analytical efforts performed by AST in frames of Improving Public Expenditure Accountability in Armenia project. Benefit incidence analysis conducted in 2009 showed a gap between urban and rural areas of Armenia in terms of access to antenatal health services. Having identified the issue and possible policy options to address it, a cost effectiveness analysis of the options was conducted in 2010 and updated in 2011 based on data from a nationwide household survey commissioned specifically for the purpose.
Improving Public Expenditure Accountability in Armenia is a five-year project funded by DFID and managed by GDN and R4D. Browse the project page to learn more about project activities and to download analytical documents produced.
